뮤직 큐! [부록] 코멘터리 모음
조웅 : 음악이 얼마나 자유로울 수 있는지, 얼마나 지 맘대로 일 수 있는지에 대한 도전이 있다. 특히 밴드의 음악이기 때문에 그 도전은 더 유효하다. 기술의 발전은 틀에 갇히고, 매끈하고, 틀림이 없는 음악들을 양산해냈다. 하지만 원래 맞고 틀리는 건 없는 것. 틀리는 게 맞을 때의 쾌감, 맞는 게 틀릴 때의 시원함. 사람의 동작과 호흡이 그대로 담겨있는, 살아있는 음반을 만 들고 싶은 갈망이 있다.
밴드가 함께 연주하여 녹음하는 '원테이크'로 하루에 녹음했다. 옛 선배들이 말하길, 밴드는 그렇게 하는 거란다. 하루 만에 1세트 9곡을 3번 돌렸다. 그중에 맘에 드는 테이크를 골라 9곡을 구성했다. 구남의 공연 엔지니어를 맡아주는 녹음실타디스의 류호건이 녹음했다. 그의 기술은 무엇보다 이 음악들이 살아있게 하는데 집중되었다. 재밌었다. 이젠 재미없으면 작업할 수 없다. 의미가 없어지니까. 과거보다 더 그렇다. 이런 방식이라면, 앞으로도 더 오래도록 앨범을 만들 수 있겠다는 생각이 들었다.
유주현 : 바쁘게 돌아가는 현대사회 속에서 긴 시간 동안 우려낸 찐한 맛을 느껴보시길 ...
이기학 : 움직이는 것도 쉽지 않은 세상. 현재도 미래도 함께 눈 앞에서 보고 느낄수 있는 소리이고 싶다.
이민채 : An exercise in perseverance, Goonam’s 5th studio album "1969" is not only a testament to the group's longevity but also a reflection on a changing cultural landscape. Organic and warm in sound, the results may seem effortless to the listener, but the process behind it was anything but. Choosing collaboration over an individualistic approach, the album is the result of a collective effort put forth by a ragtag community of misfits. 구남 1969 앨범에는 뭐랄까 앨범을 만드는 사람들의 즐거움이 느껴진다. 꼴찌반 만세! 협동은 고급스킬!
류호건 : 보컬을 제외한 모든 트랙을 한 공간-채널1969-에서 원테이크로 녹음했다. 보컬 또한 대부분 원테이크로 녹음했으며 이 특정한 공간과 원테이크 레코딩에서만 발견할 수 있는 자연스러운 사운드를 잡아내기 위해 녹음 단계부터 많은 노력을 기울였다. 아주 기본적인 밴드셋 악기만을 가지고 자연스러움을 잃지 않으면서도 공간을 채우는 풍성한 사운드를 만들어 내는 것은 어려운 일이었지만 밴드 멤버들과 함께 수많은 시행착오와 시도를 거쳐 마음에 드는 결과 물을 만들어 낼 수 있었다.
이지향 : 삶은 내가 생각한 대로 흘러가지 않고 문젯거리는 계속해서 생긴다. 그 이야기들은 노래로 부를 수 있을 만큼 재미있다.
안홍인 : “칙칙한 버스터미널 한구석에 옷깃을 세운 올드맨이 있다. 그의 손엔 바짝 타들어간 담뱃불과 땅콩빵 한 봉지가 들려 있다” 구남의 신곡들이 스케치되는 합주 현장에서 구남의 멤버들과 나눈 대화였다. 겨우 땅콩 빵과 담뱃불로 한기를 달래고 있는 저 사내가 바라보는 시선과 그를 둘러싼 사연을 한껏 만들어 가던 것이 이번 앨범의 시작이었다. 집합이 금지된 시절 최소의 3인조와 셔터를 내린 라이브 클럽 사장이 모여 5인 이하로서 할 수 있는 최선의 재미였 다. 불 꺼진 연남동 골목 셔터를 내린 라이브 클럽에서 ‘땅콩빵’은 월요일 밤에 모였다. 모이고 모였고 감염은 퍼졌다 줄었다 속보는 속터지고 놀라웁고 새삼 쨍하게 밝은 와중에 흑막이의 세상이었는데... 오발탄이 아니고 불발인 게 어디냐며... 땅콩빵 사내의 시선과 그를 배경으로 하는 3인조의 싸운드는 그렇게 슬슬 구남의것이되어가고있었다.
스텔라의 시동이 부릉 걸렸다. 쌍라이트가 반짝였다.

1. Order cancellation
