오보이스트 함 경이 피아니스트 손열음과 함께 자신의 첫 해외 음반, 모던 오보에 소품집 <TAWO(타보)>를 발매했다. 이번 앨범은 ‘음악은 지극히 개인적인 동시에 인간의 본성과 사회 전체를 그려낸다’는 그의 음악적 철학으로부터 시작한다. 앨범명 또한 ‘개인’과 ‘인간’을 동시에 뜻하는 필리핀 비사야 언어와도 관련이 있다. 청소년 시절부터 전 세계적으로 주목을 받아온 함 경이 연주자로서의 자아를 담기 위해 오랜 시간 고심한 결과물이다.

<TAWO(타보)> 앨범에는 총 18개 곡이 담겨 있으나, 실물 음반이 수용 가능한 재생 시간을 훌쩍 넘겨 디지털 음원으로만 공개한 한 곡까지 합치면 총 19개의 곡으로 이루어졌다. 세월이 흐르면서 음악적 접근법이 더욱 성숙해졌다는 오보이스트 함 경과 새롭고 멋진 음악은 모두 소개하고 싶다는 피아니스트 손열음, 두 연주자의 음악에 대한 개인적인 비전과 가치관이 가득 담긴 셈이다.

오보에 주자들과 음악 애호가들 이 사랑하는 그리스 작곡가 니코스 스칼코타스의 “솔로 오보에와 피아노를 위한 콘체르티노”로 시작하는 이 앨범에는 파울 힌데미트 “오보에와 피아노를 위한 소나타”, 안탈 도라티 “솔로 오보에를 위한 다섯 개의 소품곡”, 핀란드 지휘자이자 작곡가로 널리 알려진 에사-페카 살로넨의 곡 “세컨드 미팅” 외 솔로 악기로서 오보에의 가능성을 확장해주고 있는 파벨 하스, 앤드류 노만의 곡까지 만나볼 수 있다.

오보이스트 함 경은 현대 음악의 정수를 담은 첫 앨범을 준비하며 “다른 이로부터 영감을 받는 것만큼 독창적인 것은 없는 것 같다. 내 음악 또한 누군가에게 닿기를 바란다.”라고 발매 소감을 전했다.
