‘Let Me Cry’는 최근 발표된 엄정화 앨범 중 ‘버들숲’의 작, 편곡가로 참여한 Postino가 프로듀싱한 곡이다. 디스코팝 사운드에 한국적 감수성이 풍부한 멜로디가 한데 어우러진 이 곡은 여주인공의 내면을 비추는 노랫말과 함께 극중 엄정화의 매력을 한층 살려준다.

[슬픈사랑]

사랑에는 언제나 가슴 아픈 이별이, 그리고 그 이별 속에는 언제나 슬픈 사랑의 이야기가 있다. 이루는 이 곡을 노래하면서 마치 마주 앉아 이야기를 하듯이 슬픈 사랑의 전달자가 되어 듣는 이의 가슴속을 파고 든다. 편곡 또한 어떠한 자랑이나 기교도 없이 피아노, 기타, 첼로 딱 3가지 악기편성으로 드라마 속에 슬픔 그 자체로 녹아들 수 있도록 하였다

이번 드라마에서 가수 유지나 역을 맡은 엄정화를 위해 작곡가 주영훈이 90년대 멜로디와 최신 덥스탭 리듬이 가미된 ‘에메랄드’를 작사, 작곡 하였다.

‘에메랄드’는 드라마 속 가수 유지나의 삶의 이야기이기도 하지만, 현대를 살아가는 많은 여성들의 마음을 대변하는 가사 내용으로, 왈츠와 EDM을 합친 리듬, 그리고 후렴에서 다시 펑키 리듬으로 변하는 리듬의 변화가 돋보이며, 간주의 덥스탭 리듬이 세대를 아울러 흥을 돋구는 신나는 펑키 댄스 곡이다. 90년대 음악을 향수하는 이들에게는 그때의 멜로디와, 최신 리듬이 익숙한 젊은 층에게는 아주 익숙한 편곡이 어우러져 곡의 완성도를 높였다.

'바보같아요'는 두 남녀가 사랑하면서도 선뜻 사랑한다는 말을 못하고 마음 속에 담아둬야 하는 속앓이를 가사에 담았다.
