한국이 낳은 세계적 팝페라스타 임형주의 이번 정규 6집은 지금까지 그의 다른 정규 앨범들에 비해 매우 독특한 형식의 앨범이라고 단언할 수 있다.

그러한 이유는 그가 제작, 투자총괄, 원작각본, 음악감독, 주연배우 1인 5역을 맡아 열연한 이번 정규 6집과

동명의 제목인 국내 최초 가톨릭 단편음악영화 'The Last Confession-마지막 고해'의 OST앨범으로 제작되었기 때문이다.

임형주가 지난 2013년 12월 발매한 자신의 정규 5집 'Finally'와 동명의 제목의 뮤직무비 겸 단편영화였던 'Finally(연출 및 감독: 임형주)'가 당시 앨범의 수록곡들을 영상으로서 표현하고자 시도했던 프로젝트였다면,

이번 정규 6집은 이와는 반대로 예전부터 임형주가 구상해왔던 원작을 바탕으로 영화를 먼저 제작하고 후에 그에 걸맞는 음악들을 작업 및 수록하는 방식을 취한 한마디로 정의하자면 ‘영화와 팝페라의 만남’이라고 표현할 수 있다.

아울러 임형주와 19년간 ‘음악의 동반자’로 함께 호흡을 맞춰온 ‘응답하라 1988’, ‘디마프’, ‘또 오해영’ 및 영화 ‘파파로티’ 등의 대표작으로 명성을 떨치고 있는 이상훈 음악감독이 이번 정규 6집에도 총괄 프로듀서로 참여하였으며,

특히, 이번 앨범의 타이틀곡이자 영화의 주제가인 ‘눈감기 전에’는 임형주와 오랜친구인 싱어송라이터 진호현이 작곡 및 공동작사한 곡으로 애절한 가사와 아련한 멜로디가 조화를 이루고 있으며, 영화의 엔딩테마곡으로 쓰인 ‘너에게 주는 노래’는 지난 1998년 임형주의 첫 독집앨범이자 국내데뷔앨범의 마지막곡으로 수록곡이었던 곡으로 그의 팬들에겐 익히 잘 알려진 명곡인데, 우연히도 이 노래의 가사가 이번 영화의 스토리와 완벽한 일치를 이루고 있어 임형주가 이번 영화의 기획 및 구성단계부터 염두에 두었던 것으로 알려졌다. 따라서 무려 19년만에 자신의 곡을 리메이크한 것이기에 그의 오랜 팬들에게는 그야말로 특별하고 뜻깊은 추억을 선사할 예정이다.
