원제가 'Tour of Duty' 인 <머나먼 정글>은 CBS에서 87년9월부터 방송된 작품으로 시청률 뿐 아니라 작품성 면에서도 큰 반향을 일으킨 걸작 시리즈로 손꼽힌다. 총 3시즌, 58부작으로 구성되었다.
‘머나먼 정글’은 MBC에서 1990년 처음 전파를 타 전쟁 드라마가 거의 없던 시절 우리나라에서도 높은 시청률을 기록하며 많은 사랑을 받은 전쟁 휴머니티 드라마이다. 첫 방송 때는 월요일 밤 11시에 방송을 시작했지만 방송인기가 상승함에 따라 그 당시 황금시간대인 일요일 오후 6시로 방송을 옮길 정도로 인기가 높았다.
단순히 미군이 적들을 무찔러 세계를 구한다는 헐리우드식 영웅주의 스토리가 아닌 월남전 당시의 미군을 중심으로 전쟁의 참혹성과 실태를 리얼하게 그려냈던 작품으로 리얼리티와 휴머니티가 살아있는 작품이다. <머나먼 정글>은 좀 더 객관적이고 인본주의적인 시각으로 월남전을 해석한 전쟁 휴머니티 드라마이다. 1987년부터 90년까지 총 58회에 걸쳐 제작된 이 시리즈에는 많은 캐릭터들이 등장한다. 특히 ‘앤더슨 중사’로 등장했던 테렌스 녹스와 ‘골드만 중위’로 출연한 스테판 카프리가 투톱체제로 주연을 맡아 인상적인 연기를 보여주었다.
전쟁의 포화 속에 서로가 희생양이 될 수밖에 없는 전선의 군인들의 생활상과 전쟁터에서 겪게 되는 극도의 갈등과 고민과 스트레스들, 그리고 미군에게 맹공을 당하면서도 끝까지 항거하는 베트남 군인들의 처절한 대응이 아주 생생하게 그려지고 있다.

이 작품의 주제가는 록 음악계의 전설이라 할 수 있는 그룹 롤링스톤즈의 ‘Paint it Black’ 으로 전쟁의 참혹함과 휴머니티를 다룬 드라마와 잘 어우러져 방송 당시 큰 인기를 끌었고, 지금까지도 많은 인기를 끌고 있는 명곡이다.
▶ 줄거리

1. Order cancellation

2. Exchange/Refund
- Exchange/refund request can be registered through email within 7 days after delivery.
- The round-trip shipping rate is charged to the customer for exchange/refund due to customer’s private reasons.
- If refund is approved after request, then we will guide you in regard to the refund charge and round-trip delivery fees.
- If the product is different from our description/advertisement on the page, or you are eligible for exchange/refund due to product malfunction or wrong delivery, then the shipping rate for refund/exchange will be paid by our company.
